2018 Kia Optima Trim Level Options

The Kia Optima is something unusual – an exciting midsize sedan. In a class known for its stalwart commitment to resisting challenge, the Kia Optima gives drivers the ability to enjoy class-leading comfort, convenience, and safety features without driving something plain. Additionally, Kia’s set of standard features and configuration options on the 2018 Kia Optima allows drivers to meet any want or need in this stylish, award-winning 4-door sedan.

Out with the SXL, in with the S

One of the biggest changes drivers may notice for the 2018 Kia Optima is the addition and replacement of a 2017 Kia Optima trim level. Gone is the SXL 2.0 Turbo from the trim level options lineup, in its place is the sporty S trim level.

If you had been faithfully waiting and saving up for the SXL 2.0 Turbo, however, take heart. Kia hasn’t eliminated this feature-set, only moved it to a package offered under the name SX Limited. Even better news, the MSRP is reduced on this new package, from the 2017 Kia Optima SXL 2.0 Turbo trim level.

Upgrades for All Trim Levels

Kia gave all trim levels a boost by offering the incredible UVO eServices system with a 7″ touch screen supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay as a standard feature across all trim levels for the 2018 Kia Optima. Beyond entertainment, Kia has further emphasized its commitment to safety by offering the following features as standard on all 2018 Kia Optima trim levels.

  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD) – This feature uses radar to alert drivers to objects or vehicles in their blind-spot. This can be very helpful when merging.
  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA) – When you’re backing up, you want to know if a vehicle is heading toward the place your car will be backing up into. Standard for 2018 is the Rear Cross Traffic Alert which uses sensors to alert drivers to vehicles that may pose a collision risk when backing up.
  • Rear Parking Assist System (RPAS) – Where Rear Cross Traffic alert helps drivers who are backing out a parking space, the Rear Parking Assist System helps drivers backing up by alerting them to any object or vehicle in the path of their backward movement.
