The technology behind Kia Rear Cross Traffic Alert
Designed to help drivers when checking over your shoulder doesn’t quite do the trick, Rear Cross Traffic Alert uses the same vehicle sensors as the Rear-View Camera and Blind Spot Detection to detect approaching vehicles. The system is activated when you put your Kia model in reverse and monitors traffic crossing your path as you back up. If it senses an approaching vehicle, Rear Cross Traffic Alert provides both audible and visual alerts to warn the driver.
Other Kia safety technologies
In addition to Rear Cross Traffic Alert, the current Kia lineup features a variety of other safety technologies aimed at improving the in-car experience. These include:
- Around View Monitoring System
- Smart Parking Assistance System
- Autonomous Emergency Braking
- Advanced Smart Cruise Control
- Forward Collision Warning
- Blind Spot Detection
